Team Leader: Mike Turner
"God of love, help us to remember that Christ has no body now on earth but ours,
no hands but ours, no feet but ours.
Ours are the eyes to see the needs of the world.
Ours are the hands with which to bless everyone now.
Our are the feet with which he is to go about doing good."
Saint Teresa of Avila (1515 - 1582)

Clara’s Closet:
Many of us have volunteered at Clara's Closet sorting and folding clothes and other items. They provided our Afghan families with much needed clothes and other items to set up apartments when they first arrived from Afghanistan.
Clara's Closet provides gently used and sometimes brand new clothing, hygiene products and home goods to people who find themselves in need.
"We dedicate our efforts to welcoming our newest neighbors to our "City of Good Neighbors," caring for the poor and marginalized, and to working cooperatively with local resettlement agencies. Our stock of donated clothing, household goods and hygiene items are available on a first come basis, and may vary depending on the season."
Clara’s Closet Refugee Services, Inc. is a 501c3 organization, located in the basement level of Central Park United Methodist Church, 216 Beard Avenue, Buffalo, NY 14214

Kenmore UMC Christmas Alternative Gift
The Kenmore UMC Mission Team selected the World Central Kitchen as this year's Christmas Alternative.
Founded in 2010 by Chef JoseÌ AndreÌs, World Central Kitchen (WCK) is a nonprofit organization that is
first to the frontlines, providing meals in response to humanitarian, climate, and community crises.
WCK has served more than 300 million nourishing meals around the world. When disaster strikes, WCK’s Relief
Team mobilizes with the urgency of now to start cooking and serving meals to people in need. By partnering with
organizations on the ground and activating a network of local restaurants, food trucks, or emergency kitchens,
WCK serves comforting meals to survivors of disasters quickly and effectively. To support regional economies,
WCK prioritizes purchasing local ingredients to cook with or distribute directly to families in need.
Comforting Meals in Buffalo, NY and Uvalde, TX
The shooting at the Tops supermarket in Buffalo closed the community’s only grocery store, making access to
fresh food difficult for families already in distress. Working with Buffalo Chef Darian Bryan, WCK began serving
hot meals near the store — as well as distributing fresh produce for families to take home.
Currently World Central Kitchen is working alongside partners inside Gaza, Israel, Lebanon, and Egypt
to support families impacted by the escalating conflict. In the past month, WCK has worked alongside
many organizations, to provide more than one million hot, freshly prepared meals in the region, along
with produce, food kits, and other sources of support. They are waiting at border
crossings with support for those trapped in Gaza.
We are happy to report that we collected $1160 for WCK which we were able to get matched when we donated to make an impact of $2320! This will be used to provide food and aid to the people in Gaza and around the world. Praise God!
