Hi!
I'm Dawn Stinner and this is my story:
I was raised in Buffalo, NY where I met and married my husband, David Stinner. We’ve lived in Tonawanda for the last 25 years with our 5 sons, Austin, Maxim, Alexander, Emerson & Griffin and our dog Luna. We love to travel all over the world together.
I attended Daemen University and have continued my educational achievements at Buffalo State College and Niagara University.
I started out my educational career working in Buffalo Public Schools as well as LDP as a Kindergarten Special Education Teacher and Health Specialist. I hold several NYS Certifications.
Upon getting married I managed our personal businesses before having my children and putting my career on hold to concentrate on family. When my children became school aged I reentered the working world and started advocating on behalf of the educational needs of underprivileged and disabled students.
13 years ago I started the Ken-Ton SEPTO, a parent advocacy group for families of students with learning disabilities. I also sit on the MAB-Member Advisory Board for Person Centered Services and several committees throughout the Town of Tonawanda and Ken-Ton School District.
I have been an employee of KUMC Preschool for 10 years and the Preschool Director for 4 years. I've taught the 2's, 3's and 4 + year old programs. With a diverse background in Special Education and Business Management, we have begun returning KUMC Preschool to the stellar community program it once was.
