Alzheimer's Dementia Caregivers Respite Program Volunteer

Kenmore UMC offers an Alzheimer's Dementia Caregivers Respite Program on the 4th Wednesday of each month. There is a large waiting list for people with Alzheimers or Dementia to attend, to give their caregivers a little break to take care of themselves.  We need at least 2 people for each client as well as floaters and other assistants and kitchen help.
Why?  Volunteering for the program is incredibly rewarding as you give caregivers a much needed 3.5 hr break from their 24x7 around the clock caregiving of their loved one with dementia.  It's fun too!!
Who's eligible: anyone 21 years and older who can volunteer on the last Wednesday of the month from 10am to 3:00pm.
Our clients arrive at 10:30 and stay until 2:30.
We do require training to volunteer in the Kenmore UMC Dementia Respite Care program. We will need volunteers to provide your email for a background check.  Volunteering has a month by month commitment.  At the beginning of each month, you will be asked if you are available to volunteer for the 4th Wednesday of that month.
